The day started early, as our destination—Hyundai—was about two hours away. Before leaving, we picked up boxed lunches and yogurt from the yogurt cart that Jinny so graciously brought for us.
Upon arriving at the Hyundai factory, we began a guided tour that walked us through the entire car manufacturing process, from raw steel to finished vehicle. Unfortunately, photography wasn’t allowed during the tour, but the experience was still incredibly memorable.
The tour began with robots moving and shaping raw steel into large sheets. These sheets were then formed into various car panels and frames. It was amazing to see how quickly and precisely the robots completed each task—flawless and efficient.
Once the components were formed, they were bonded and welded together—again, mostly by robots. Watching them assemble major sections of the car was fascinating. While most of the initial stages of manufacturing rely on robotics, the final assembly—especially the car’s interior—is done primarily by hand.
After the Hyundai tour, we had a long bus ride to the Han River. There, we enjoyed our lunch: a bento box filled with a variety of tasty dishes. After eating, we had some free time to walk along the riverbank before boarding a river cruise.
The cruise offered beautiful views of the cityscape and the Han River. One of the highlights was feeding the seagulls—we held out fish-shaped treats and they swooped in to grab them right from our hands!

Later, we returned to the hotel to get ready for the evening. I visited Insa-dong, then walked to Myeongdong where I tried some street food. After a fun night of exploring, we made our way back to the hotel to rest.
