Day 5: Cool Tech and Mango Obsession

As always, our morning started with pho and fruit. After breakfast, we boarded the bus and headed to GlassEgg, a company I had very little prior knowledge of, but that quickly captured my attention.

GlassEgg was one of the coolest sessions we’ve had so far. One thing that really stood out to me was the strength of their partnerships. Some of their clients have been with them for over 15 years, even before those clients had launched a single game. That kind of trust and loyalty is incredibly rare and speaks volumes about their reputation and consistency.

Another standout was their ability to meet incredibly tight deadlines. While it usually takes 60–200 days to produce their intricate 3D car models, they’re often asked to deliver within a month. Instead of pushing back, they lean on strong delegation and teamwork to meet those expectations. That level of flexibility and reliability is clearly a huge part of what keeps them successful in such a competitive and fast-moving industry.

Looking forward, though, I do think there are real challenges ahead, especially with the rapid growth of artificial intelligence. As AI tools become more advanced and affordable, they may begin to mimic or even replace some aspects of creative production. For a company like GlassEgg, staying ahead of that curve will be essential, whether that’s through innovation, emphasizing quality, or adopting AI in their own workflows.

After our visit, we had a big lunch, pasta, pizza, wings, and fries. All delicious, but I left so full. We then returned to UEF for our final Vietnamese language class. It was one of our most energetic and fun classes yet. We even got to learn about the five elements (earth, fire, water, wood, and metal) and how they influence many aspects of Vietnamese culture, from health to personality traits.

Our day at UEF ended with culture class filled with new Vietnamese snacks to try and games like banh dua and bau cua, and then it was back to the hotel for our second tailor visit to tweak our custom suits. It was a full and satisfying day, and hard to believe it was already Day 5.

One moment I definitely want to remember from this first week is eating my first Vietnamese mango. I had been talking about it nonstop since arriving (sorry guys!) and hearing about the variety of mango types in Vietnam only got me more excited. Asia really does mangoes better than anywhere else.

Week one is nearly over, and it’s flying by faster than I imagined. Can’t wait to see what Week two holds!
