Day 5: Kitxen

Today was more of a lowkey day where Saioa showed us around the Ribera Market and we also went to a cooking class. The cooking class was so much fun. We had 2 different kinds of pintxos, Spanish tortilla, and a dessert called Goxua. The one of the pintxos we made were called Gildas de anchoa y alegria, which are made with anchovies, piparra, olives, and alegria. The other was called Bilbainiro, which was made with a hard boil egg, prawns and mayonnaise. They were both really good and I am excited to share these recipes with my family at home.

After making pintxos, we visited Artxanda which on the outskirts of Bilbao. It is on top of a very tall mountain that you can take a cart to get up to it. It is very similar to the Duquesne Incline. It had the most beautiful view of the city and you could even see the Guggenheim! We got to talk lots of pictures and it was nice to really take in the view.
