A Day of Aphrodite – Day 7

We started off our day today with Aphrodite’s Rock in Paphos! After a long bus ride, we arrived at an extremely rocky beach and saw a ton of huge boulders close to the shore. It was really beautiful and I can see why the legend came to be despite there not being too much foam today. We had some fun skipping stones there as well. After that, we visited the Tomb of the Kings, and went through the various tunnels underground. We saw several actual rectangles where it can be assumed that bodies were stored in the past. It was a little disturbing thinking about what used to be there in a place that looked otherwise barren to the naked eye. After that, we saw a collection of mosaics, each with their own elaborate history from so long ago. It definitely put me in the mindset of your average Greek person listening to these tales. From there, we went to the boardwalk and explored a little bit. The craziest thing I saw there was an actual pelican in one of the souvenir shops for some reason, and it was a lot bigger in person than one would think.
