Day 6 in Korea: Yonsei University

Today, we went to Yonsei University. It is among the most prestigious in South Korea, along with Seoul National University and Korea University. Yonsei is well known for its business, law, and engineering programs. It was rainy today, so the plans changed as the day went on. Once we got to Yonsei, we had time to roam the campus and get lunch in the dining hall. The food was a lot better than what we have at Pitt.

After getting food at the dining hall, a student who spoke English well gave us a campus tour. She walked us around part of the campus before it started to rain a lot, and the tour ended abruptly when it rained. After the tour, we got some more free time before we had a tour of the engineering building, by some of the engineering students. I was impressed with the amount of machinery the students had available.

After the tour of the engineering building, we sat down with a former Pitt doctoral student who was now running a lab at Yonsei University. She was joined by some of her students who were in the lab with her. We got to talk to the students and tour the lab, which was very cool. After that, we were given free time for dinner. So my friends and I went to Outback Steakhouse, which is very fancy in Korea. It was excellent and cheaper than the United States, too, when compared to other premium steak houses.
