Slept in! I got to have some great rest and I woke up around 11:15am this morning. We had the option to hike (~6:20am) or sleep in and go Namsan Tower (~12:00pm)- I chose the tower. It was actually my second time at the tower because I went with two friends a few days prior to try one of the restaurants there. The part of our group that decided to go to the tower left around noon and arrived at the tower by 1:00pm. Our tour guide Jenni showed us around the area and told us about the history of the tower. We got some good pictures and the view was awesome. I tried Starbucks in Korea and it was good and less expensive than the US. I also tried chicken and some sides from a place called “Mom’s Touch” and boba, in the tower. After our free time for lunch, our group got back together to depart from the tower. We walked down a small trail to the bottom of the mountain, then we took a bus ride to the city area where we met up with the other half of the group who had gone hiking. We then, all together, walked to a cooking class! The cooking class was very popular in Korea as they had a wall of pictures with many celebritites that had gone, including Martha Stewart! The instructor also had some cool experience, like working of the food that will appear in Squid Games Season 3! The meal that we would be cooking was Bibimbap. We cut up onions, carrots, chives, lettuce, and mushrooms, and cooked them as well as meat and an egg. We then assembled the cooked ingredients in a bowl with rice to make it look delicious. It looked great and tasted even better. After the cooking class our group headed back to the hotel where I showered and then later headed to Burger King to get some food with my roommate Jacob. The menu at Burger King was very different and it had some cool looking things on it. My favorite was the shake fries- this was a bag of fries and a packet of garlic powder that I shook together. I then chilled and got some work done and went to bed. A good day filled with good food!
