On the day before we travelled to visit the Waorani nation, our group ventured out to the Canuayacu river with two local guides to go on an awesome river hike. We got to wade through waist deep waters, swim through one of the deepest parts, and then have diving competitions at the end in a natural pool that had formed at the end of the river. This was one of the hardest things we’ve done so far as a group, but also one of the most fun.
It was a great way to learn each other’s strengths, especially when it came to navigating the hike in different ways, and making sure all of us made it to the end, while also having fun and exploring the nature around us. After getting home and packing up, I headed to bed, ready to explore another world.
