Farewell to Cyprus – Day 11

It’s so sad that the trip is already coming to an end, but we had a pretty solid last day today. At St. Mina’s Monastery, we saw a collection of beautiful plants around us. I can tell that they pretty regularly take care of their gardens and even the little church that is in the center of the monestary. I found it interesting that there weren’t really any lights in there despite all of the paintings on the walls, maybe they mostly rely on candlelight and daylight still. In Lefkara Village, we observed a lot of shops that sold fabrics and things that have been sewn and it is noticeably a part of the towns culture. With small winding roads and a lot of greenery it almost reminded me of Italy. The church we saw there was pretty as well, having a much larger inside. The stars on the ceiling were my favorite part, there was something so nice about looking up and seeing them painted all over. Altogether, this was a pretty fun trip with a lot of days like today, and I’ll be missing Cyprus.
