¡Hola! Today is our second to last day here in Iyarina. We had breakfast which was eggs and an interesting hash brown food with cheese and a mashed potato inside.

We didn’t have anything to do today, so I used it to pack everything up which was very sad and take out my outfits for the day and airport tomorrow. I also picked up my pot and saw that it made it without breaking!

Lunch was salad, rice, and a chicken, green bean, and carrot stew, which was delicious. Then, I worked with Kayhaan, Shirley, and Mark on our chocolate presentation that we would be presenting to everyone later on in the day. After practicing, we changed and headed over to the main lodge area and presented our project, and I listened to the other group’s presentations on chocolate and some on flowers. Then, the staff of the lodge came out and watched our 60 second videos of an Ecuador trailer that we made. There were 8 groups with 2 partners each, and we had to make an Ecuador trailer showing why someone may want to choose Ecuador. Carter was my partner and although the staff voting didn’t all vote for ours to win, I was proud of my video making and the work we did.
We went upstairs to dinner which was salad, mashed potatoes, and beef stew. After quickly eating, we drove to Tena, a cute town with restaurants, to walk around and enjoy our last night together. Some of us got milkshakes and crepes and I tried my first shawarma with Maggie which was very good. We headed back to the lodge all exhausted and went to sleep for the last time at the lodge.
