Today was our final company visit before we all presented. We went to Grob, a company that manufactured large robots for car manufacturing plants. Grob was an interesting company since everything I heard about it was much different than what I saw. When I learned they were family owned and operated I expected something much smaller than what we saw. We toured a few large factories full of automation and innovation. Seeing robots make robots is not something you will normally see at a factory. The chain of production on the factories was spectacular as everything needed the utmost detail. The most interesting thing I learned was that the main competitor to Grob was the people they sell to. For example, when they sell a large robotic machine to Tesla, Tesla can modify and use a lot of what Grob put into their products, into future designs entirely by Tesla. They are competing with innovators within the industry. Everything at Grob was very well run and the presentation they provided throughout the whole day was amazing. From food to wonderful tours, Grob was an amazing visit. The rest of the day was spent on our own. I worked on my group project and shopped for my family. The picture I chose was outside the Grob facility.
