Day 10 – GROB

Today, we visited GROB, our final company visit on the trip. I had never heard of GROB before the trip and didn’t expect how much I would enjoy learning about this company.

Right away, GROB felt different than the other companies we’ve toured. The buildings were sleek and modern, and there was this clear sense of pride in how everything was presented, from the design of the entry spaces to the displays and sculptures scattered throughout. It wasn’t just a factory. It felt like a place where people cared deeply about what they were doing.

After a quick breakfast and opening presentation, we toured the production floors. What stood out most to me was how structured and clean everything was. The level of precision was impressive, and every part of the process felt carefully thought out. One thing I didn’t expect was how much customization they offer in their machines; each one was built for a specific client, and we even saw some painted in custom colors, which I thought was a cool detail.

Being there in person helped me understand more about the company than just the brief introduction we had at the beginning of the trip. Walking through the space, seeing the machines being assembled, and watching how the teams worked together gave me a much better understanding of what GROB is all about.

We ended with another presentation that dove deeper into their global strategy and how they’re dealing with changing trends in the auto industry, especially the shift to electric vehicles. It was interesting, and I walked away with a much clearer picture of GROB as a business and as a culture.

After we got back, I spent most of the evening preparing for my presentation with my group. Hard to believe the company visits are over already, but I’m glad we finished on such a strong one.
