Today was our free day, which did not go as expected, but was still fun regardless. Our original plan was to take the train into Salzburg, but once we arrived in Munich to take our train there, me and one other girl realized we had forgotten our passports. After some quick research on if passports are checked on this train, we made the choice to stay and spend our free day in Munich and avoid the risk. This ended up being the right move because we later found out passports were checked on this train.
Despite the change in plans, we had a fun day getting to see more of Munich! we walked through some shops, got souvenirs, and visited the Haribo store for some candy. It was cool to be able to roam the city with no time constraint and go at our own pace.
When it was time for lunch, we decided to go to the Viktualienmarkt which was a market area with a bunch of different food vendors. This was a great choice because we were both able to freely wander and find what we want. I loved getting to see all of the different options and my lunch was great.

After we left Munich, we went back to the hotel and got some rest before heading to dinner once more people got home from their free day. After that it was time to pack and get ready for our early morning tomorrow travelling back home. Overall, it was a fun day and a great way to close our the trip!
