Today we visited Grob, and then worked on our projects. Not a ton to report, although the tour of Grob was fascinating. they specialize in extremely finely-tuned metal machining, and have a humongous facility in Mindelheim, Germany, where they build all kinds of industrial machines for other companies and precisely manufactured metal works of art. They showed us a 3d map of Germany that they machined out of solid aluminum as well as a scale model of a castle and a Chinese dragon, all of which were super cool but we were not allowed to take any pictures during the tour. The talk was interesting but also mostly engineering and technology related, similar to Hoerbiger. Still a cool tour, and then we worked in our groups on presentations for the rest of the day. I worked with nate and kayla, but mostly with nate, in the dining area of the Ibis Koenigsplatz hotel. (our project was on continental).
