We started our final day in Germany bright and early with a 5:45 AM departure from the hotel. Everyone was tired and honestly a little sick too including me but we pushed through to get on the road one last time.
The first flight was long but I was lucky enough to sleep through most of it since I was so exhausted. After landing back in the US the first thing I wanted was Chick Fil A and it hit the spot. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until that moment. We had a bit of a layover before the next flight to Pittsburgh so we sat at the gate and waited. Even though I loved this trip I was starting to look forward to being home again.
The second flight was quick just about an hour and 45 minutes. It honestly flew by no pun intended. Once we landed I was picked up by my partner and headed straight home to finally rest. It felt weird to close out such a big experience so suddenly.
Looking back this trip was better than I could have ever imagined. It was amazing to learn about Germany’s automotive industry and the role it plays on a global level. Visiting factories and hearing directly from the people working there brought everything to life in a way you just can’t get in a classroom.
Beyond the business side I was blown away by the history and architecture. I saw things I never would have experienced in the US and every place we visited left a mark on me. From medieval castles to modern manufacturing it was all unforgettable.
This trip changed me. It opened my eyes to how much more of the world is out there. I feel more curious more motivated and more inspired to keep exploring. I know this won’t be my last time traveling abroad because now I want to see so much more.
Plus3 Germany wasn’t just a class or a trip. It was a life experience I’ll carry with me forever.
