Hello! My name is Devin Tabourn, and I am a junior at the University of Pittsburgh studying Finance with a minor in Economics. I am originally from Philadelphia, but I have lived in Atlanta for the past few years. At Pitt, I am involved in the Pitt Real Estate Club and the Panther Equity Club, where I have been able to gain valuable knowledge about real estate, investing, and financial markets.
Professionally, I am interested in pursuing a career in finance, particularly in areas such as investment management, financial analysis, or real estate. I am eager to gain real-world experience that will help me better understand markets and business operations.
For my Plus3 program, I have chosen to study abroad in Germany. I selected this program because of Germany’s strong global presence in manufacturing, engineering, and finance. This program was also a great fit for me to be able to study abroad without completing an entire semester, and it will also allow me to gain experience before coming back to complete my internship.
I have always had a strong interest in cars, and this experience will give me the opportunity to learn more about the automotive industry and the vehicles I have admired since childhood. I am particularly interested in understanding how German companies operate within a global economy and how their business practices differ from those in the United States. I am so excited to see the Audi factory and others, while also exploring Germany and enjoying the beauty of the country.
This program will also allow me to connect with new people, gain a deeper understanding of different cultures, and learn more about myself in the process. I believe it will help me grow both personally and professionally by exposing me to new perspectives and experiences outside of my comfort zone.
