My name is Daphne Brozyna. I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh, studying Economics and Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. After I finish my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend law school. I am from Ocean City, New Jersey, a beach town about 30 minutes from the southernmost point of the state. At Pitt, I am involved in Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity in which I will serve as Vice President of Finance next semester. I am also a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and a junior analyst in Panther Equity, a student-led investment portfolio. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, playing tennis, and am currently learning how to play the piano. I also love sewing my own clothes, which makes me especially excited to experience the talented tailoring culture in Vietnam.
I am excited to be attending the Plus3 Vietnam trip this May. I chose Vietnam because it presents a unique opportunity to travel somewhere I had never previously considered. Throughout my pre-departure classes, I have learned about Vietnamese culture, from its vibrant traditional attire to its immense coffee industry. Plus3 will allow me to experience the country not just as a tourist, but as an immersed student by collaborating with peers at the University of Economics and Finance. I am particularly interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s role in global trade and how its rapidly developing economy shapes business–an understanding I will carry into my future career in corporate law.
