First of Many

I’m from Owings Mills, Maryland, and I’ve always been someone who learns best by exploring how things work and trying to understand the systems behind them. Outside of school, I spend a lot of time on hobbies that keep me active and curious, like guitar, archery, and skiing.

I’m majoring in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where I’m building a foundation in how materials behave, how they’re designed, and how they can be used to solve real‑world problems. I’ve already had the chance to explore engineering from different angles — including completing four shadow days at various engineering companies and contributing to a conference paper on AI driving.

I am participating in the Netherlands Plus 3 program. I picked this location because I am interested in nuclear engineering and various types of clean energy. In the first semester, I had a project where I wanted to use hydroelectricity, but could not due to a lack of knowledge, so I wanted to learn more about the topic.
