Hi! My name is Della Davis and I am a first-year nursing student at the University of Pittsburgh. I am from Haddonfield, New Jersey where I have a younger brother, Alex, and two dogs. In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading, drawing, and skiing. At the University of Pittsburgh, I am a member of the Pitt Ski club and enjoy meeting new people with similar hobbies.
After school it is my goal to work in the Intensive Care Unit. I want to be able to help and take care of patients in their most critical states. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to help others and during the pandemic I realized I wouldn’t be happy working an office job when I saw my parents working at their computers all day. Nursing is a hands-on, active job that allows me to help others. It checks all of my boxes, and I couldn’t be more excited to be on my way to becoming a nurse.
This summer I am thrilled to have the opportunity to travel to Birmingham with my fellow classmates through the Plus3 program! I chose this program because I love learning about different cultures and also love traveling. I aim to learn more about the different ways the UK handles their healthcare and education systems during this experience. Additionally, I hope to connect with people from different cultural backgrounds and gain a broader perspective on life.
