Hi, my name is Kyla Spengler! I am a current freshman at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in nursing, and I also plan to complete a Global Health Certificate. One day, I hope to become a CRNA. I’m from Nazareth, PA, and although I’m not too far from home, I’ve really enjoyed living in the city and exploring all of the opportunities Pittsburgh has to offer. On campus, I’m involved in the Nursing Student Association, Red Cross, Greek life (ADPi), and I joined the club swim team during my first semester. These experiences have already helped me grow and begin preparing for my future in nursing. Outside of class, I enjoy staying active, spending time outdoors, hanging out with friends, and reading.
I’m really excited to be part of the Healthcare, Innovation, and Technology program in Spain because it connects my interest in nursing with my curiosity about how healthcare works in different places. I’m especially looking forward to working with engineering students and seeing how technology can actually improve patient care. I think it’ll be a cool way to learn from different perspectives and understand healthcare beyond just the clinical side. I also hope this experience helps me become more adaptable and better at working with others. On top of that, I’m excited to experience a new culture, try new foods, and just get out of my comfort zone a little.
I am so excited for this opportunity to travel to Spain and begin this experience!
Kyla Spengler
