Hello! My name is Morgan Cliver, and I am a Freshman nursing student who is attending the Plus3 Spain trip this summer! I am originally from Pennington, New Jersey, which is about a 5 hour drive from campus. Currently, I am most interested in Pediatric nursing and hope to eventually become a nurse practitioner. Outside of classes, I am a part of CrossFit club at Pitt where I am in training to become a coach next semester, and I love playing volleyball with friends and exploring the city of Pittsburgh. I am so excited to study abroad this summer!
This May, I will be travelling with my nursing and engineering peers to Bilbao, Spain, where we will be studying how healthcare, innovation, and technology intertwine in medicine. I chose this program because I believe it is imperative to gain understanding of other cultures and occupations. By doing this, I can best care for patients with a more complex understanding of how the healthcare system intertwines with so many other disciplines to advance in medicine. I am really looking forward to seeing how the Nursing and Engineering professions work together to care for patients, and see how hospitals in Spain operate similarly and differently from the U.S. Overall, on the trip I hope to grow professionally through engaging lectures and hospital visits, and personally through learning how to work as a team with my peers and deepen my understanding of the Basque region and people!
