Hello! My name is Alyssa Del Roio and I am a freshman in the School of Nursing also working towards a certificate in Corporate/Community Relations! I am from Boyds, Maryland which is about a 40 drive from DC. It is a very rural part of Maryland so this is my first time living in a city! I have a younger brother, Roman, and an older sister, Ana, as well as, two golden doodles, Bear and Bella, and a parakeet, Blueberry. In my free time, I love to go to the gym, go on walks/runs, draw, go to concerts, and travel. At Pitt so far, I have loved exploring the city, making new friends, and getting involved in different organizations on campus.
My goal for the future is to work in an environment where there is always something to do. I love fast-paced work and being on my feet. I am not entirely sure of the pathway I want to go down yet, maybe ICU or travel nurse, but am looking forward to figuring it out. Overall, I am just excited to get to help people and try to make patients feel as safe and cared for as possible. It has always been a passion of mine, and I can’t wait to be able to pursue it!
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to go to Spain through the Plus3 program this summer! I chose this program because I am interested in exploring how technology in healthcare settings varies across countries. I want to develop a better understanding and different perspective of the healthcare system overall. I believe this program will be very valuable in giving me experience for my future plans in life. On top of that, I love to travel and enjoy learning about other cultures, trying new foods, and seeing new things! This program offers a unique opportunity to do it all!
