Introduction Post

Hello! My name is Dylan Carr, and I am a student at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Finance and Accounting. Academically, I am interested in learning how financial systems, accounting practices, and business strategies shape organizations and economies. I am especially interested in understanding how different countries approach business regulations, and how those differences impact companies globally. Personally, I enjoy staying active through basketball and pickleball, and I value spending time with my friends and family whenever I can. Professionally, I hope to begin my career in public accounting and use that experience to explore future opportunities in accounting and finance.

For Plus3, I have chosen the Argentina program, where the focus is on healthcare management. I selected this program because healthcare is an industry that will always be connected to business, finance, and management. It is an area that continues to interest me because of how important financial decision-making is to hospitals, insurance systems, and patient care. Living in Pittsburgh, I have seen the major impact that healthcare organizations like UPMC, which has made me more curious about how healthcare systems operate in other countries. Personally, I hope to gain new cultural experiences and broaden my perspective by traveling abroad. Academically, I want to learn how Argentina’s healthcare system compares to the United States. Professionally, I hope this experience will strengthen my adaptability, communication skills, and understanding of how business principles apply across industries and countries.
