Intro for Netherlands!

Hi, my name is Max Jarrar. I am a first-year engineering student from Upper Dublin, Pennsylvania. Currently, I am pursuing mechanical engineering with a minor in electrical engineering. Outside of school I enjoy playing sports, cooking and being outside in nature. I am very passionate about sustainability, so I am excited for this experience in the Netherlands as I am sure I will learn so much more.

The Netherlands values sustainability, which drives businesses to constantly improve to meet their country’s goals. An example of this is how companies take steps toward a circular economy. This means that waste is minimized and materials are reused. Businesses design products with recyclability and durability in mind.

The Netherlands was a top choice for me because of its big focus on sustainability and environmental consciousness. When traveling to the Netherlands, I hope to learn a lot more about how sustainable practices are implemented into engineering. I am also very excited to meet new people and experience a new culture. I hope to also gain insight into what I want to pursue professionally, as I am still unsure what I want to do after finishing college.
