Hey guys! My name is Gavin Sudac, and I am from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I am a freshman finance major here at the University of Pittsburgh School of Business and am a member of the professional fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, as well as a member of Pitt’s Socially Responsible Investment Portfolio. I also work at Howl at the Moon in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Outside of the professional world, I love to spend time with my friends and family. Whether it be playing outside or hanging out inside watching sports, I am always looking to spend time surrounded by the people I love. Additionally, I enjoy playing the guitar and love the NFL.
I chose to take part in the adventures of the Plus3 Ecuador program because of the once in a lifetime opportunities that were presented to me. Several members of Delta Sigma Pi told me stories of their incredible experiences, and it sounded like something I simply could not miss out on. I have always loved outside adventures, whether it was hiking, camping, or just enjoying nature. I am most excited to spend time 72 miles in the Amazon Rainforest and take in the world around me.
During the 2 weeks I spend in Ecuador, I hope to do just that: take in the world around me. I have never had an experience in my life even close to what I am about to do. I hope to be pushed way out of my comfort zone, which I have no doubt I will. I hope to come back with a new perspective of life that differs greatly from what we know at home, as we travel throughout the country. I am looking forward to learning about the chocolate industry first hand, and to come back with a greater appreciation for the chocolate we eat every day.
