Second Day With Lambda

Today we visited Lambda Development group which is one of the main project leaders for the Ellinikon Park. We learned about BIM, building information modeling, which allows architects, engineers, and contractors to reduce costs, share data, improve efficiently, and optimize workflow. Shortly after we got a tour of some of the park from Tasos Papapostolou, a project manager for Lambda Development, who told us about about the different site locations and history. He also mentioned how his day to day was more about the long term and that the main two considerations were cost and time. In terms of the future of my engineering, this visit taught me how value time, cost, and shareholders are when it comes to project especially big ones like Ellinikon Park. The trip displayed how the BIM and GIS was being integrated at scale for this project and how many moving parts there are at one time.
