Day four in Bilbao!

Today, we started the day with two fascinating presentations in the School of Engineering. The first presentation focused on the reuse of pacemakers and the important research being done to make this technology safer and more accessible for patients around the world. The second presentation was about the process of designing a medical device. We learned about each stage of the engineering design process and how biomedical engineers apply creativity, problem-solving, and testing to develop devices that improve patient care and quality of life. After the presentations, we enjoyed a delicious lunch in the engineering school cafeteria and had the chance to relax before the afternoon activities.

Next, we went on a shopping trip to a seven-floor mall that seemed to have every store imaginable. One of the highlights was trying brevas, a pastry similar to a long donut filled with sweet cream. It was so interesting to see a grocery store located directly above a jewelry store, which made the mall feel even more unique. Later, we attended a cooking class where we made several traditional pintxos and desserts. Overall, it was another unforgettable and exciting day in Bilbao!
