Across the various cultural and historical outings so far, I have learned that enthusiasm in one’s daily activities is significant to being successful. Both the cooking class leader and our tour guide, Dimitri, have dedicated themselves to helping others experience and appreciate the local culture. This obtained knowledge and willingness to share is inspiring to me as an aspiring engineer. I want to share knowledge and help others achieve their goals as well. This will require me to process information and apply it to procure solutions, likewise to their professions. Another inspiring aspect of our recent adventures is the glorification of Greek Gods and other significant historical figures. I aspire to have my influence remembered and appreciated as well. This will require me to dedicate my time to learning and innovating. I believe this pursuit of purpose would bring significant meaning to my life and hopefully inspire others for good. The Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum both represent the pursuit of preserving the characters of those who came before us.
Above is a statue of Poseidon in the Acropolis Museum we toured. The Greek people glorify him for protecting seafarers and his influence on the natural world.
Above is Brendan Porter (right) and me (left) inside the museum. We tried to mimic the figures displayed behind us, also located in the Acropolis Museum.
Above is me looking over the city of Athens from the edge of the Acropolis. Surrounding the Acropolis are modern civil works, representing our preservation of old culture and technology.
