The Invention of Guns Makes Sense: Day 4

Today, I also did an Instagram Takeover, so most of you reading know what I am about to talk about. To start, we went to Suwon Fortress for an archery activity. This is where my title comes from, as this was very hard and ridiculous to aim properly. However, somehow the whole event was only $2 per person, which is insanely cheap compared to what it would be in America. After archery, we walked around the fortress and got to see how Korean soldiers defended the many temples we had already visited.

Then, once leaving the fortress, we went to another temple and then had lunch at a chicken place. When the whole menu was a whole chicken, dumplings, tteokbokki, and some drinks, I knew we were in the right place. Eight of us split 3 chickens, 2 things of dumplings wrapped in chicken skin, and 2 things of tteokbokki, and absolutely loved it all. However, the chicken organs were very rough, and we didn’t really eat those. Somehow, this meal only cost $65 for all eight of us, like what?! Anyways, I am for sure not complaining. After our amazing chicken lunch, we then headed to our second site visit, the Samsung Innovation Museum.

Once going through the museum, we learned quite a bit about how Samsung started and has continued to be a tech giant all these years later. We also realized it was quite a marketing campaign, as I am definitely convinced to get Samsung products in the future. Once we left, they even gave us mousepads that had a group photo of us inside them.

And that was all of the organized day for today, which means more time for shopping!! First, I went into Namdaemun market, where there were so many shops that I got gifts for others and myself. Then, I ate at this amazing dumpling place that I found via a TikTok video. After that market, we moved to Myeongdong, where I finally found Pokémon cards and many other items I thought would be great to take back home. Will and I even found an arcade downstairs where we played a racing game that you actually had to buckle in to start. Finally, I came back to the hotel and organized all my stuff before we go to the temple stay on Saturday and then wrote this blog. Can’t wait to talk all about the DMZ and Korean Baseball tomorrow!
