Costa Rica’s whole approach to sustainability honestly feels so genuine. The more I read, the more it seems like they’re not just saying the right things, they’re actually doing them. Clean energy, protecting forests, making sure huge crops like coffee, bananas, and pineapples are grown responsibly… It’s everywhere. Those three crops show up in almost every article, and you can tell the country takes real pride in doing things the right way, not just for show. And now that we’re getting ready to leave, it’s starting to feel real. I keep catching myself imagining what it’s going to be like to actually see all of this in person, not just reading about it on a screen. I want to see how a place that values nature so much actually runs day‑to‑day, how people talk about sustainability, how it shows up in their routines, and what “pura vida” feels like when you’re surrounded by it instead of just hearing the phrase. Also, the photo of me holding that cup of coffee is an everyday thing I now get to see behind the scenes. Coffee is such a huge part of Costa Rica’s culture and sustainability story, and now I’m about to go to the place where so much of it starts. It’s cool to think that in a few days, I’ll be standing on the farms and in the communities that make all of this possible. I’m really excited for this trip and can’t wait to get going!
