A Game of Thrones Adventure!

Today we traveled to San Sebastián, another beautiful city here in the Basque Country. Our first stop was a small amusement park overlooking the city. Even though I didn’t go on any of the rides, the view alone made the stop worth it. While everyone else was busy taking pictures, I somehow became the group’s designated bag and phone holder, which honestly ended up being pretty funny. After spending some time there, we took the bus down into town and went on a short walking tour.

During the tour, Mangel shared some of the history behind many of the buildings and landmarks throughout the city. We also visited one of the local churches, which was absolutely beautiful inside. The architecture and detail were incredible and really showed the history and culture of the area. While exploring, I found a small gift shop and picked up a few souvenirs for people back home, I would say what they are, but they’re surprises. We later stopped for a quick lunch where we had pintxos and ice cream, and once again I got Oreo ice cream. At this point, I’m determined to figure out which ice cream shop here has the best one.

After leaving San Sebastián, we headed to a small beach that was also used as a filming location for Game of Thrones. The scenery there was unbelievable. The rock formations along the coastline were unlike anything I had ever seen before. I believe they were called flysch formations, and they created layers and patterns throughout the cliffs that looked almost unreal. There was also a small cave nearby filled with beautiful rocks and formations inside. Between the ocean views, the cliffs, and the cave, it was easily one of the coolest natural places I’ve visited on the trip so far.

To finish off the day, we all went to a group dinner, and as usual, the food was amazing. Today was definitely another adventure, and I’m excited to see what comes next.
