Today we went to San Sebastián! We were able to sleep a little bit more today, which was very nice as we have been extremely busy. After breakfast we took the bus to San Sebastián, it was about an hour away from where we are staying in Bilbao. We first went to the top of a mountain which had amazing views and some attractions. The view was absolutely gorgeous and we had amazing weather as well! Once we were finished on the top of the mountain we got back on the bus and drove down to the busier streets. Our tour guide, Mangel, showed us some of the historic sites and explained some of the history of San Sebastián. Following the tour we were had some free time to explore. I walked around many of the shops and we stopped in some restaurants for Pintxos.
After we left San Sebastián we went to a smaller beach town called Zumaia which was beautiful. The area is known for its unique geological structure containing Flysch. Additionally, Zumaia was one of the areas in the Basque Country where the television show, Game of Thrones was filmed. To finish off the night all 19 of us went out to dinner together which was an amazing way to end our first week in Spain!
