다섯 – Suwon and Samsung

Today, one of our activities got cancelled, giving our class more free time today. First, our group went to Suwon Fortress to explore and do an archery practice. I had a fun time learning how to use the bow, and I got comfortable aiming and shooting pretty quickly. Additionally, I enjoyed spending time at the fortress, but by now, I think I’m done with seeing the historical sites. Although many of these locations are very important parts of Korean history, it became pretty boring to visit types of buildings that all looked pretty similar.

Once we were done eating lunch, our class had a tour at the Samsung Innovation Museum, which shows the evolution of Samsung’s products and their company growth. This tour made some really convincing points to give up on Apple products, as Samsung utilizes far more innovation and creativity in their goods. Besides Samsung’s smartphones, I was very impressed with their other smart appliances, such as their TV’s, refrigerators, and closets, which could all be synchronized together. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to take many pictures of this exhibit, so I don’t have that much to share…

After the Samsung visit, I spent time shopping and hanging out with friends. Since this trip is completely packed with company visits and tours, I really cherished this free time and made sure to visit the stores I wanted to shop at. Overall, this day was a great mix of tourism, personal exploration, and professional work.
