Throughout the tour, I took note of the immense size and amount of containers there were. Having multiple piers was a necessity especially because of how large the port itself expanded. When we first entered the port, we saw a container being lowered by a crane. We also passed a building for engineers that served as a place to make repairs if needed. All of these observations led me to wonder how the progress and status of vessels and cargo are kept tracked of. When we entered the headquarters building, we were shown a screen that kept track of the percentage of how unloaded/loaded each container was. I found this very fascinating and a good way to stay organized.
