Brewing Pura Vida

Café Britt was such an amazing experience. We got to learn about all the different types of coffee, how coffee is made, and even got to try some! I found it so interesting that coffee plants take 3 years to fully grow and harvest. It was way longer than I expected. I personally didn’t know anything about the process of growing coffee plants, how it is harvested, and what all goes into it, so it was so nice to learn about.
Café Britt was very interesting to me. In my opinion, I feel that they are lifting up Costa Rican culture. We got to learn about all the different countries they ship to, including but not limited to the USA, Peru, China, Ukraine, and are currently trying Russia. The process that they have to start shipping to another country is a lot, but it is very worth it in the end. In 2024, they had almost $80 million in revenue, and have now exceeded over $100 million. It really surprised me that they still try and ship to countries that are currently under war. I didn’t think they would get much revenue from them, but they still do!
I believe that Café Britt is expanding Costa Rican culture by selling and transporting their items to other countries. On every bag of coffee beans or grinds, they have exactly where that coffee bean came from, like a volcano or mountain ranges, and they all say Costa Rica on it as well. This helps with the marketing aspect and keeps Costa Rican coffee culture alive, in my opinion. I believe that Café Britt is doing a great job in continuing promoting Costa Rican culture and economy! Overall, Café Britt was such a cool place to learn all about coffee, where it comes from, how it’s made, and how they market and sell to different countries!!
