Day 12: The last Goodbye :(

Today marked the final day of the trip: so sad :(. We started off the day back at the designated plus3 room where Saioa gave us a presentation on the Spanish healthcare system from the perspective of a Spanish citizen. Then, we visited the prosthetic club who is working on building a prosthetic arm for a competition where they will compete in events such as pouring water out of a cup and throwing a ball using their hand-made prosthetic. To end off our time at the school of engineering, we visited the electric guitar club. This club’s main goal is to hand make electric guitars from scratch, and last year they even made one for one of the most famous bands in Spain! Jonathan also showed off his very impressive piano skills while we were there.

After our club tours, we headed to the Vizcaya Bridge. It was so cold, windy, and rainy. These factors only worked to elevate my fear of heights at the top of the bridge. That bridge may have been my least favorite part of the trip, but I can see how it can be enjoyable to others (without a fear of heights). After our time on the bridge, we split off for an hour or two of free time. I spent this time shopping where I bought a super nice belt, a really cute bag, earrings, and some new shoes.

Finally, we all met back up for one last dinner. It was so sad saying bye to everyone who was so kind to help us on this journey. The memories I made here will last a lifetime, and even though I am extremely tired and ready to go home, I know I will miss it so much.
