Today was a very chill day. After getting up and enjoying an amazing breakfast, we went on a tour of the city as our schedule got swapped. We went to see the place where I got to enjoy the builders’ architecture and craftsmanship in the infrastructure. We then had lunch, a traditional Moroccan meal, followed by tea and sweets. I then went and haggled around the shops till 5 before coming back to the hotel and relaxing. It’s hard to put into words the experience in the shops. Going up and down the streets haggling prices from crazy markups to reasonable prices. It’s a lot of finding the right deals and prices, especially when you don’t know the actual reasonable price. Luckily, my experiences in India have helped navigate and make the best of it!
Citrus delight
I choose to share this photo because all the food I’ve had here has been the best. Whether in the presentation or the taste, it never disappoints. Since coming to Morocco, I was looking for fruits as I had heard stories about how good they are. And actually getting to try and enjoy them has been phenominal.
The Dirhams are in the Details
I chose this image because it really stood out to me. Whenever visiting these places, the amount of handcrafted details is incredible. The pigments colored in after staying so vivid are a testament to the quality of the craftsmanship and upkeep. The place as a whole was built over 7 years, with almost every wall having detailing or workmanship just like this. Even the floors are patterned marble and are so well done. This level of detail and the fact that it was relatively cost-effective are incredible. It goes to show how much love and care can really be put into something and how much humans can achieve.
Souks and sandles
I choose this image because it showed off the two main markets I was seeking brass and leather. Today I ended up getting two bags at a good prices 175MAD and 20MAS and for the quality and material of authentic leather. Along with this I picked Gardina scented oil, saffron and some lipstick as gifts for my cousins and mom. shopping here was na incredible experience and I hop to get it again someday. It was so much fun and that experience is so unique to these eastern countries.
