Uruguay here we come! During our super early morning today, we rode a boat all the way to Uruguay. Even though we were all tired, it was exciting to travel to another country by boat and spend the day exploring a new place. We visited Colonia, where we spent the day walking around the historic area, learning about the city’s history, enjoying food, and spending time shopping for souvenirs. One of the coolest parts of the city was seeing the historic lighthouse and all of the cobblestone streets that made the town feel old and unique.
Another thing that stood out was the large number of wild dogs throughout the city. Many of the local residents help take care of them, and the dogs are treated with a lot of respect. It gave the city a very welcoming feeling. Also, a huge shoutout to our teacher Jason for making this such an amazing trip! He is always willing to help us learn, answer our questions, and just talk with us throughout the day. He has made the trip more engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
