Day 14: A Very Sad Day, Have to Go Work a J*b Now…

Waking up this morning was like getting punched in the face. Straight up. I still had a bit of packing to do so I got up early and did that. It was honestly just sad. I remember opening up my suitcase when I got there and thinking packing is going to suck. It did. After that though, I got breakfast with everyone one last time. It was nice to see everyone. Soon after that we hauled all the luggage down and headed out to take one last drive with our faithful bus driver Karl.

Staring out the window on the bus I began reflecting on the trip, but I’ll save that for the last blog post.

We got to the airport, and it was instantly a rush for me. I was on an earlier flight than everyone else so I was first to check my bags and the first to book it to security. I only got to say goodbye to Phil and Larry, I am so sorry everyone else. The security line was pretty smooth until I got up to the booth. This guard just straight up sat there doing nothing for fifteen minutes instead of looking at my passport – like I got a plane to catch man. Anyways, just barely making it to my plane I got on and sat down, instantly falling asleep.

The ride honestly wasn’t too bad. The windows had some technology that made them able to turn dark and completely block out the light so that was cool. I slept a good portion of the flight and eventually landed safely in Chicago.

However, I wish I didn’t. Chicago sucked. I was there on a four-hour layover, and the place was like a hundred degrees and there was nowhere to sit. I eventually just went to Chili’s by myself which was somewhat enjoyable. Until I got that bill, thirty dollars on one meal – do not go to airport Chili’s they will rob you.

The rest is a blur, I remember getting on my next flight, landing after forty-five minutes and driving home. Once I got home, I hit my bed harder than ever before and slept until the morning – jetlag couldn’t stop my trauma from Chicago.

Overall, pretty smooth traveling. I will say it was pretty depressing being alone the whole time, but it gave me a lot of time to think. On that note, I will see you next time on my very last blog post.
