Day 10: Innovation and Adaptation

Our trip to Aumovio and Regansburg had great themes of high technology alongside modern history. Aumovio was my team’s industry for the final presentation, so I was excited to see the factory!

Before the visit, I was imagining a futuristic headquarters with a busy atmosphere as that is what the AUMOVIO brand gives off on their online platforms. I was amazed once we started our tour of the factory. We had to put on these special coats and boots to enter the production room . Once we were in the room, I was shocked by the continuous assembly lines of the simple white machine that were printing out these somewhat small electronic devices. It was fascinating to see how a small part can do so much for the car. Aumovio focuses on the technology that goes behind sensors, smart mobility, etc. Learning about the role that Aumovio plays in the automotive industry made me think about how the technology for sensors, autonomous driving, and safety, can go unnoticed sometimes as we have become so accustomed to this type of tech. However, this visit changed the way I viewed this category of the automotive industry and made me take a closer look at what goes on behind the scenes.

Later in the day, we visited Regensburg, one of Germany’s best preserved medieval cities! This was another one of my favorite places we stopped. As we walked around the town I loved seeing the old and the new coexist. This place consisted of cobblestone streets, old buildings, busy restaurants, and busy businesses. I think this dynamic reflects how Germany values history while also prioritizing the growth of the country as well. Overall, the places we visited on this day made me gather a better understanding of the modern automotive industry, but also the importance of culture!
