Hi everyone! My name is Ava Valecce. I am a first-year nursing student pursuing a BSN and a global health certificate. I am from Washington Township, NJ. I am an active member in the nursing student association here at Pitt. After my BSN, I hope to continue schooling either as an NP or CRNA.

I enjoy playing tennis, doing yoga/ exercising, going to the beach with friends, listening to music, and exploring new places. This summer I will spend my time working on the beach.

I chose to participate in the Plus3 Argentina program to expand my knowledge in global healthcare and gain first hand experience in a healthcare system different from that of the U.S. This program will allow me a basis for comparison to the U.S. and prepare me for the various circumstances I may encounter in my future of nursing. I am also interested in learning about the health insurance/business aspect of healthcare and how that differs between populations in terms of provided coverage. I am looking forward to exploring all that Argentina has to offer and meeting new people through study abroad!
