Camouflage in the Underground Mine

Today we visited the Black Country Living Museum. It was dark inside of the mine, I fully disappered, all you could see is teeth and eyes. Blending in with the dark was not fun, I do that at home all the time when I turn the lights out lol. Just joking but it was really dark and I was NOT visible. Good thing me and my group made sure we stayed together.

Located in Dudley, England, is the Black Country Living Museum. This museum preserves and showcases the history of the Black Country, which was known for its coal mines, iron foundries, and other manufacturing industries during the Industrial Revolution. The museum consists of historic buildings that have been moved to the site and reconstructed to create a replica of a late 19th to early 20th-century industrial town. Visitors can explore shops, houses, a school, a church, and various industrial buildings, experiencing what life was like for the people of the Black Country during that time period. We stopped by the school and experienced what it would have been like to have a class there. The teacher was very strict. Students who had ink on their body, or nails painted, was called to the front to get shames upon. I was not ashamed I happily showed them my other tattoos while I was up there by myself.

I loved how a lot of people visiting were dressed as if it was still that time period. It is as if they were fully trying to get the experience of what it was like being a resident or worker of the Black Country. If I new there was like a theme, I would have totally got dressed up for it and to take pictures in front of all the old school things. I initially did not want to wake up early to go to this musuem but it was actually worth it. It was not only educational, but interactive and fun. These are the kind of tours I can deal with and enjoy, or even art musuems with actual art and stuff, that is my kind of vibe.

The museum also hosts demonstrations of traditional crafts and industries, as well as special events and exhibitions related to the history and culture of the area. It’s a popular tourist attraction and educational resource for learning about the industrial heritage of the Black Country. It also had a mini carnival, with limited rides. I got on one ride and It was quite fun. I watched a few people play the two games, the one with the bean bag looked like it was rigged. The bean bags were mini and they were super light, so in order to knock the cans down, you would need to launch the bean bags with force.

I would definitely recommend seeing this attraction because it is actually interesting. Next time I go though, I am going to wear all white so I can glow in the dark from head to toe.

I’m glad that you went, too, and that you found it fun. (Just FYI: Most carnival games ARE rigged in one way or another. Plus the prizes are so inexpensive that even if you DO win, it’s still a net gain for them).
