Today, we had two more tours, one was hy and the other was Samsung Innovation Museum. We first went to hy, which is a major food company in Korea. We were at their factory where they made their yakult, which is a small probiotic drink that is like yogurt but more of a liquid. Like most companies, pictures inside the factory were prohibited.
We first started our tour of the factory by seeing the tanks where the yakult is made. There are 36 tanks in the factory, and it said that it holds enough of the product to produce 27 million of the 65mL bottles. The yakult is made first by heating the ingredients to kill any bacteria’s, then they are mixed where they are left to ferment for 20 days before it is ready to be packaged.
We then were show how the bottles are made, which is done by melting a synthetic resin at 240 degrees Celsius where it is then molded into the desired shape of the bottle. The bottle are examined to make sure they are safe, then the produced is ready to be packaged and shipped to be sold.
At the end of the tour, we were able to try some of their products as were Also given a bag that had some more things to try.

After a short lunch period, we then made our way to Samsung Innovation Museum. We were given a very interesting tour where we learned about the development of electricity from the very beginning all the way to the products that Samsung has today.
Regarding the development of phones, Samsung has many phones that were the first to have certain capabilities. They had the first phone with a camera as well as a GPS to name a couple.

We were then taken to a different floor where they showed us the newest versions of some Samsung products. The first was a living room setup that displayed how multiple things including the TV, blinds, and a lamp, could be controlled simultaneously from a phone. Another thing was a digital chalkboard. It had a pen that drew with one side and highlighted with the other, and all you had to do to erase was wipe it with your hand. Finally, they also showed us their smart fridge that has a huge screen on the door. The fridge uses cameras to keep track of things that are in the fridge as well as what has been removed.

We ended the day with a scavenger hunt around Lotte World where we were supposed to find 4 specific landmarks, however we were unable to find one of them even after asking many locals and security guards. We ended up not completing it, but it was a fun experience to explore around the area nonetheless.
