Day 11: Cat Lai Terminal

Today was our final company visit as well as the second to last day we are spending in Vietnam. Its crazy how time flies when you are exploring another country. We started off the day going to the Cat Lai Terminal which is a major port that deals with imports and exports. Cat Lai Terminal is one of many different ports all along Vietnam. When we arrived, they explained what Cat Lai terminal did and some of the safety precautions as well. Afterwards, we put on a reflective vest and a hardhat and set out for a tour of the facility. We took buses around the grounds and whenever we stopped, our tour guide would explain to us what was taking place in each location. After we visited a few locations, we finished our tour and went to lunch at a mall. After visiting 2 different malls, I have started to notice that many of the malls have a western theme to them. They seem very similar to a lot of the western malls that I’m used to. After the mall, we moved on to the Ben Thanh market which was huge market where people sold a lot of things. A theme that I noticed is that the vendors sold a lot of fake designer products which I think makes a very funny gift. As we start moving towards the final day, I’m grateful that I was able to go on this trip, and I look forward to hopefully visiting Vietnam again someday.
