Today we visited ANDD, which is for helping women’s digital skills. I found it interesting how new of a program ANDD was. ANDD has just started and is looking for any possible sponsors. This is similar to Anou Cooperation in a way because it started in 2018, I believe. To me, this demonstrates progress. Morocco is a developing society where women are being given more opportunities. The ANDD program is a non-profit organization which has 3 sections of learning. A student discussed her experience to us. At first, she was asking us all our names, and it was funny to see the cultural difference. She was joking around, and I thought it was cool to see how different cultures are perceived by locals. However, she talked about how the only thing she could say was “asslam elaykam” the first time she was at a class. Lastly, she clearly has gained confidence where she is joking with random Pitt students.
The women we met in the afternoon were learning how to use social media and applications. It was interesting looking through the different instagram pages. The speakers clearly discussed how they learned how to use TikTok and CapCut. In my head, I was thinking it is easy to use TikTok and CapCut. It was eye-opening to see a new perspective. Not everyone knows how to edit videos or has access to these applications. In addition, the candles smelled really good. Women have the ability to market their goods on new platforms. Lastly, the two programs were similar because they were both using new digital platforms to help women grow.
