The day has finally come! Presentations are upon us, and we can put all that we have learned to the test. We didn’t have to be at the university until 2, but a few of us headed over to the university to grab a bite to eat, and then meet with our groups one last time to prepare for our presentation.
We met up and ran through our script one final time before our final presentation, and for the first time since we started working together, everything felt like it was finally coming together. We had a perfect time for our presentation; we were harmonizing better than we had before, and we were ready to go; all we had to do was wait for our turn.
After getting to the classroom where we would be presenting at 2, we were informed that we would, unfortunately, be going last. While it wasn’t the end of the world, it definitely built up a lot of anxiety as we watched the phenomenal presentations from each of the groups before us.
It was really interesting to hear more about all of the companies that we had taken time to tour over the last 2 weeks, and everyone did a great job. Over each of the 4 presentations that took place before us, it felt like everyone knew their facts, prepped their parts of the presentation, and executed. After a long wait, we finally stood up to give the last presentation, marking the start of the end of our trip.
I think our presentation went pretty well. We hit the time we wanted to without going far over, everyone spoke pretty clearly, and our information was conveyed in a clear and concise manner. As we finished, almost immediately, it felt like a massive weight was lifted from my chest. 2 weeks of long tours, research, and working together to create this presentation, and it was all finally over, but it wasn’t just relief. As the presentation ended, it began to hit me that the trip was nearing an end in itself.
We gathered together later that day for one final group meal, where we had delicious German food, and reflected with one another on how great the trip had been. From the fun facts we had gathered along the way to the friendships we had made with one another, all of us knew that our two-week getaway in Augsburg was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
