Day 6 – Audi

Today was the day we were all waiting for, The Audi Tour. We started with a bus ride to Ingolstadt to the Audi factory. Our group started with a tour of the factory first. It was so cool to see everything being made and I really enjoyed getting a firsthand look at how a car I have driven before is made. My dad drives an Audi A4 so seeing the assembly line for that was unique. The factory tour was awesome as we got to see all the automation they had going on in the factory as they had many robots driving and moving things around which worked with great efficiency.

We then moved on to the tour of the Audi Museum. The tour was awesome as they started from the beginning of Audi on the top floor and worked their way down to the future of their cars like EVs as you moved down. This was great to see, and we got to take many pictures of all the cars. We then went to the showroom and saw and sat in an Audi R8 and many other incredible cars. Being able to sit in all these crazy expensive cars was like a dream come true.

Finally, we had a presentation about Audi. This was our fourth and final presentation of the week and personally it was my favorite. I think they did a great job balancing covering the company and basic things while also speaking about the future and upcoming cars and EV’s and the shift that comes with that. We got to ask a lot of questions and I think they were answered wonderfully, and we learned a lot.

The last part of our day was a presentation from a journalist from Bloomberg. This presentation was also enlightening as he reports on the car industry, so he was very knowledgeable. He taught us about the car market in Europe and the ways it is changing. He spoke a lot about EV tech and other popular tech like hydrogen power. We got to ask him lots of questions and I feel as though we all came away with greater knowledge after his presentation.

I started the week as a car enjoyer but after being immersed in the Automotive industry I’ve become much more invested. I came away with lots of new knowledge and now plan to Potentially purchase an EV as my next car. I learned a lot this week that I think will pique my interest for a while as I plan to keep up with the car industry especially EV tech for the foreseeable future.
