Gab Goes Gaelic

Today was our last full day in Ireland, so we had to make it count!

We started the day off early with a trip to the Kilmainham Jail. During the many tours we have done so far, all the guides have mentioned the fight for Ireland to become its own free state. More specifically the rebels who were jailed and then executed for their efforts. At the jail, we saw where these rebels were kept. We even saw where Grace Gifford and Joseph Plunkett got married and where they were jailed. My favorite part of the tour was seeing Grace Gifford’s drawings that she drew in her jail cell, as she was later jailed for the political cartoons she drew.

FoodCloud has become an extremely positive contribution to communities as they provide a helping hand to those in need. Brian shared how even though it is not their job to directly give out food, if someone comes to their door with the intention of getting food, they will still provide them with something. This shows how even though it may not be their job in some cases, they will still help out the community and do the best they can to make a positive difference. What makes their business model successful is the fact that they do not have many competitors and they do not have to worry about marketing. The most innovative aspect of their business model is how they can control their supply chain by freezing some foods. By doing this, they will have more time to distribute the food when the charities actually need them instead of giving unneeded food.
