We started the day off with an early breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The food for breakfast was really good and included food like chicken wings and ribs. The breakfast was at our hotel and was on the 17th floor, so it had an amazing view.

Right after breakfast we hopped on a bus and headed to Suwon Hwaseong fortress. We were able to get a tour of part of the fortress. After the tour we were given the opportunity to participate in some archery. We were given a lesson on archery as well as a bow and ten arrows. We were then able to shoot all ten arrows at a target. This has been one of my favorite experiences of the trip so far.

After visiting Suwon Hwaseong fortress we got on a bus and headed to the Samsung Innovation Museum. At this museum we were able to learn about some of the history of Samsung as well as its products. We were also able to experience some of Samsung’s smart technology firsthand. This technology includes a rotating TV, color changing refrigerator, and a self-washing and drying machine for your clothes.

After the Samsung museum we headed to Myeongdang. We were given about an hour of free-time at Myeongdang before we had to meet up for dinner. So to use our free-time we walked around and look at the stores in Myeongdang, Around 6 p.m. we met at Myeongdang Chaewoom for dinner. The food we ate tasted good and felt very authentic. During this dinner we were also able to talk to Grace, a University of Pittsburgh Engineering alumni that lives in Korea. Even though I am not an Engineering major it was still interesting to listen to Grace talk about her experiences at Pitt and Korea. After dinner we were given an another opportunity to walk around Myeongdang.
