Today, we started back at the Bilbao School of Engineering where we toured a few more of their labs. The team is studying how center of mass can shift during movement and how that is very important to know for stroke patient’s relearning to walk. They are able to use a camera now to help track body movements and then see how the a person’s center of mass can shift. We toured another lab that had an elliptical like machine that can help stroke patients to relearn how to walk and how their center of mass shifts during walking. This machine is very impressive because walking is such a unique movement and often hard to replicate. Overall, the labs were very interesting and I am excited to see where their research leads them.

After eating lunch, we hopped on the Metro and took it over to the Hanging Bridge. This bridge has been in service since 1893 and can take people across the river by foot, car, or bike. We were able to go up to the top of the bridge where we could see an amazing view and could walk across the river. They had a gift shop too with many cool souvenirs including cute tote bags. Although the bridge does seem a little impractical in my opinion, it is definitely a cool engineering feat.
