Hi all! My name is Matthew Jones and I am a freshman in the College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh. Currently, I am majoring in finance and global management with minors in economics, political science, and Chinese. I have lived in Marlboro, New Jersey all my life, but I thought it was time for a change and decided to come out to Pitt for college. On that same note, now I am going for an even larger scenery change and will be going to Germany as part of the Plus3 program!

Out of all the locations for Plus3, Germany is the one place that aligns most with my interests. I have always had an interest in cars, from the assembly line to the finished product on the road, and the opportunity to be able to see the process of how cars are made in the automobile capital of the world is something I never thought I would be able to experience. Going on this trip with other students that share similar interests will only amplify the great experiences that await. Similarly, I am always looking for chances to experience unique cultures. Especially since I come from a relatively unique background with roots in Greece and Trinidad (decently-fun fact), increasing my breadth of interactions with other cultures is something I will strive to accomplish throughout my life, and Germany is a great place to start.

Even though I am sure everyone shares this same sentiment, and just like the cars we are going to see, I cannot wait to shift into first gear and get started with Plus3 Germany!!
